Researchers from the Humboldt Tipping project are hosting a multidisciplinary workshop focused on the Humboldt Upwelling System's ecological and socioeconomic dynamics. Scheduled for October 7-12, 2024, the workshop will take place in Lima, Peru, at the Cayetano Heredia University’s Miraflores campus, with an option for unlimited online participation.
This intensive workshop is open to early-career scientists, including undergraduate, master’s, and PhD students, from fields such as marine sciences, social sciences, and economics. The program will cover a range of topics, including ecosystem modeling, bioeconomics, social sciences, tipping point detection in time series, and scientific communication skills. Participants will have the opportunity to present their research and receive feedback from experienced scientists.
The workshop will be conducted primarily in Spanish, with select seminars offered in English. Even if you do not understand Spanish, you are welcome to join the English sessions virtually. Applications are open until September 15, 2024.
