Official launch of CeOS on November 27

Am 27. November 2020 wird das Center for Ocean and Society (CeOS) offiziell eröffnet. Aufgrund der Beschränkungen durch die Covid19-Pandemie findet die Veranstaltung über einen Livestream statt.

The Center for Ocean and Society (CeOS) will be officially opened on November 27, 2020. Due to the restrictions caused by the Covid19 pandemic, the event will take place via a live stream. Invited guests will be able to follow the program, which will be transmitted from the hall of the marine instrument pool of the Institute for Geosciences of the CAU in Neufeldtstraße, on screen. After a welcoming address by the President of the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel (CAU), Professor Simone Fulda, the Minister of Education, Science and Culture of the State of Schleswig-Holstein, Karin Prien, will address the audience. Under the heading "From Herring to Tsunami - How Science and Society Meet at the Sea" Director Professor Marie-Catherine Riekhof will introduce the Center for Ocean and Society. Professor Ralph Schneider, Director of Kiel Marine Science (KMS), will lead through the program. With the official start, CeOS will start its work as an inter-faculty platform of KMS and set a new focus on transdisciplinary research in Kiel Marine Science.
